Campo Grande is the capital state of Mato Grosso Do Sul, set in the center west of Brazil. The city is often referred to as “Brown City” as the place is famous for its reddish -brown soils. It has a population of 747,189 people and is rapidly growing. Campo Grande is well known for it’s ethnic groups but is mainly made of Japanese and Brazilians.

Campo Grande has a variation of weather during the year. From May through to September it incurs a very dry, winter season, but also a very wet and humid time occurs in the January with temps of about 20 degree’s to 29 degree’s varying. January is when the state takes in most of it’s rainfall for the year.

The operation of the Campo Grande International Airport is shared with the Campo Grande Air force base. The airport has two run-ways which are made of concrete and and construction was well underway in the 1950’s with the airport up and running three years later in 1953. Operations are mainly domestic, and the airstrip consists of planes of the Boeing 737 size.
Sports Lovers in Campo Grande.
As in Brazil, the most popular of sports is the soccer. There are an astonishing 45 playing fields in clubs and public squares that are dedicated to soccer. The city has a major stadium that can accommodate up to 45,000 people and was opened in 1971.
